Reginald McGee

Reginald McGee, age 70, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, leaving behind a lasting legacy of dedication, service, and love for both his family and his community. He was born on January 30, 1956, to Richard and Betty McGee, Sr. For over 40 years, Reginald faithfully served his community through his work in transportation, ensuring that countless individuals arrived safely at their destinations. Known for his reliability, kindness, and strong work ethic, he became a trusted and familiar presence to many. His commitment extended beyond his profession, as he consistently uplifted those around him with his warm spirit and genuine care. Outside of his work, Reginald embraced life with passion. He was an avid drummer who shared his talent by playing in multiple bands, bringing joy through music and rhythm to those fortunate enough to hear him perform. He also loved fishing, gardening, and had a deep appreciation for old school music, often enjoying the timeless sounds that meant so much to him. Reginald will be remembered for his generous heart, his love of music, his dedication to service, and the deep impact he made on everyone who knew him. His legacy lives on through his family, his work, and the countless lives he touched. Reginald is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Betty McGee, Sr.; brother, Richard McGee, Jr.; sister, Roselyn Jones; former wife, Alicia Langston; and his longtime partner, Teresa Sturdivant. Reginald’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his two sons, Reginald Lacy and Rodrick (Cynthia) McGee; daughter, Ramika McGee, all of Chattanooga, TN. He also leaves behind his sister, Gwen McGee Kelso of Sacramento, CA; brothers, Ronald McGee of Huntingdon, TN, Rodney (Remon) McGee of Chattanooga, TN, Russell (Angela) McGee of Harrison, TN, and Randy (Leslie) McGee of Atlanta, GA. He was a beloved grandfather to 14 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to 6 great-grandchildren, with more blessings on the way. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews who will continue to carry his memory forward. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished. We will forever remember his favorite saying, “Believe it’ddd!” Reginald will lie-in-state on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel with Pastor Ronald Cook as the Eulogist. Burial in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
