Lisa Yolanda Sims, 63, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, peacefully departed this life on July 7, 2026. Born on March 18, 1963, Lisa was a proud graduate of Brainerd High School, Class of 1981. Lisa was a devoted Baptist and a beloved member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where her faith was reflected in the love and compassion she showed to everyone she encountered. She faithfully served in Early Childhood Development for nearly 25 years, dedicating her life to guiding, protecting, and nurturing young children. Her impact reached far beyond the classroom, as she helped shape the lives of countless children and their families with patience, kindness, and unconditional love. Her servant’s heart extended into the community through her volunteer work at National Health Care Center of Chattanooga, where she brought comfort, companionship, and encouragement to residents. Lisa found true joy in serving others and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Known for her warm smile, generous spirit, and infectious sense of humor, Lisa’s favorite saying, “I’m just playing,” became a cherished phrase that reflected her playful personality and ability to bring laughter to those around her. Family was the center of her life, and she lovingly helped raise many of her nieces and nephews, embracing them with the same care, guidance, and love. Lisa was preceded in death by her beloved parents, John and Pauline Sims. She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her brothers, Travis (Timekod) Sims of Jacksonville, FL, and Michael (Erica) Sims of Memphis, TN; her devoted sister, Donna Jones of Chattanooga, TN; her uncle, Cecil Smith; aunts, Bessie-May Lovelace, Brenda Sims, and Gloria Smith; 4 nieces; 6 nephews; cousins; extended family members; a host of great nieces and nephews; her church family; many dear friends; and her special friends, Brenda Hendley, Hattie Burks, Susan Quarles, Ty and Tan. Lisa’s legacy is one of unwavering faith, selfless service, compassion, and love. Though she will be deeply missed, her love and beautiful spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23 A funeral service will be held for Lisa on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 12:00 noon at New Hope Baptist Church located at 3777 Wilcox Boulevard with Pastor Wayne L.
