Aaron Williams

Aaron Williams, Sr., 73, of Chattanooga, passed away, Saturday, May 24, 2025, at his residence. He was born on May 18, 1952, and he was the eldest son of four children born to the late James C. and Catherine B. Williams. He graduated from Riverside High School in 1970. In 1971, Aaron married his high school sweetheart, Marlene Lee Williams. Together, they had two beautiful children. Although their marriage ended in divorce, Aaron and Marlene remained lifelong friends. Aaron had a deep love for his family and was known for his charismatic and humorous personality. He enjoyed bowling—at which he was quite skilled—fishing, listening to music, and simply sitting outside to appreciate the beauty of nature. He loved to have fun and entertain; always the life of the party. He brought joy and laughter wherever he went. Aaron also had a special bond with his dog, Cujo, who was a loyal and loving companion. Over the years, Aaron held various positions with different companies, spending the majority of his career at National Posters. Prior to retiring, he worked as a custodian at Brainerd Baptist (BX), where he was respected and appreciated for his dedication and friendly spirit. Aaron’s warmth, laughter, and love for life will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. Aaron was preceded in death by his parents, James C Williams, Sr. and Catherine B Williams; brother, James C Williams, Jr.; son, infant Terrance Williams; brother-in-love and best friend, Sylvester Taylor. He leaves to cherish his fond memories, his longtime companion and devoted caregiver to the end, Cassandra Lyles; son, Aaron (Traci) Williams, Jr.; daughter, Aletta Williams Rivers; bonus daughters, Tameka and Nikki Stallion; 7 grandchildren, Tyrone (Edwina) Carmichael, Ashley (Stephen) Brann, Jamika Williams, Jacorious Jackson, Ethan Duckett, Erin and Aaron Williams; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Beatrice (Frank) Glasco, Glenda Taylor, Patricia (Ricky) Day, LaQuata Bush, and Clenneth Harris; nephews, Bobby Shropshire, Jr., Bernard Shropshire, Kenneth Swoope; nieces, Stephania Williams, Veronica Glasco, LaShonda Swoope, Cathy Collier; aunt, Ezella Merritt of Baltimore, MD; favorite cousin, Cassandra Glatt; a host of cousins and friends. Aaron will lie-in-state on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Minister Allen Lee, Sr. as the Eulogist.
